The ‘500 million years and a day’ exhibition moves to Ambérieux

After attracting more than 30,000 visitors across the region, the 500 million years and a day exhibition is making a comeback in the Beaujolais region. It can now be viewed on the premises of the Syndicat Mixte du Bassin Versant de l'Azergues (SMBVA), in Ambérieux.

This emblematic Beaujolais Geopark exhibition invites visitors of all ages to plunge into the depths of geological time. In just a few moments, you'll be transported hundreds of millions of years back in time, as you discover the turbulent history of our planet.

Through a selection of rock samples, pebbles shaped by the Azergues river and explanatory panels, visitors can explore the major chapters in this history: mass extinctions, spectacular rock formations, ancient vanished seas... A real immersion in the past landscapes of the Beaujolais region, enriched by anecdotes about the human uses of these rocks.
